The Fourth of July celebrates American independence, and there are a number of things to do in Vero Beach this year to mark the occasion. From fireworks and special events to backyard barbecues, there’s truly something for everyone, so get outside this Fourth of July and celebrate with your community.

There are multiple Fourth of July events planned for the Treasure Coast, including fireworks displays. For example, on July 2nd, there will be Shuckers’s Fireworks on Hutchinson Island. Shuckers is a local restaurant and bar, and there will be live music from 2pm to 6pm for the celebration. Fireworks will begin at dusk on the beach over the water. There’s a Chow Down Food Trucks River Walk from 5pm to 9:30pm in Fort Pierce, where there is also going to be the Stars Over St. Lucie Fourth of July Celebration in Marina Square from 6pm to 9:30pm.

For those who want to stay close to home, there’s a Vero Beach Annual Fourth of July Celebration at Riverside Park. There will be food, entertainment, and family friendly activities, with fireworks starting around 9pm. People will begin to show up around 4pm, so feel free to bring a picnic blanket and some games to make a day of the Fourth of July celebration.

No matter what you decide to do, we at Dependable Mitsubishi wish everyone a happy Fourth of July!

How to Enjoy the Basketball Tournament at Work

Every March, everyone’s favorite basketball tournament begins. Unfortunately, many of the games are held during work days. So, how can you enjoy the tournament at work without sacrificing your job? Here four great suggestions that we follow at Dependable Mitsubishi.

  1. Fill out some brackets. This is undeniably one of the most exciting parts about the tournament. Fill out a bracket or two and predict who you think will win. Don’t forget that there are always at least one or two big upsets.
  2. Create an office pool. Be sure to check with management before doing this. Many offices allow some type of tournament pool. For each bracket someone submits, they could put $5 into the pot. At the end, pay out the money to the winning brackets.
  3. Watch a few games during lunch. Most of the time, employees can spend their lunch and break times how they want. Find out if you can turn on a game during your free time to catch some of the action.
  4. Have a party. Start an office potluck event either scheduled during a lunch break of after work. Everyone can bring their favorite foods to share while you watch a game.

This year’s tournament promises to be a good one. You can bet that we at Dependable Mitsubishi will be talking about it the next time you visit.
